We wish to advise you of the on-line reporting procedure to Essex County Council for any footpath problem you may encounter.  This method of reporting is now preferred by ECC and is endorsed by RA policy.

Before going on-line you need to collect your details, which should include:

·       The map Grid Reference at the problem location.

·        The local parish and footpath number.

·        A clear description of the problem you encountered.

If you have difficulty finding the right path information, please e-mail John or Kevin for assistance.

The Essex County Council on-line site is very easy to use.

1) Click on http://ehss.essexcc.gov.uk/prow_details.asp

2) Specify the path and describe the defect.

3) You will then be advised by e-mail of an Enquiry No. and a WEB No.
(e.g. 32762 & WEB18811)

In addition please advise John or Kevin of your Complaint, Enquiry No.
and any eventual result, by e-mail contact.

This process should also be used for reporting faults outside our immediate Chelmsford and Maldon Districts.  We can give you contact details for the appropriate RA Footpath Secretaries in other parts of Essex.
